What Price are you Willing to Pay?

by Sherita Thompson

What price are you willing to pay for compromise? Is it worth it? I venture to say that by no stretch of the imagination is compromising truth, principles, and faith worth it at all. In our pilgrimage on this earth, we should always be true not only to ourselves and others, but most importantly to our Creator.

“The greatest want of the world is the want of men—men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.”—Ellen G. White, Education, p. 57.

This quote was powerful and applicable back in the 19th century, and is every bit as relevant for us today in the 21st century. Let us be fully persuaded that we should always obey God rather than man, Acts 5:29, especially if that man is not truly being led by the Spirit of God.

Heavenly Father:
Today we pray for boldness and courage to stand on the side of right and the truth and obedience to all that You say. Please remove the spirit of fear, doubt, anxiety, and compromise from our hearts in the face of opposition and ridicule as we seek to live for You all of our earthly days.

Amen!🙏🏼

I love the prayer at the end! Fear is something I used to deal with a lot and compromise well I always tried to compromise with God. I didn’t get very far of course. However, I learned a lot from that lesson so no regrets.

Thanks for sharing. Somedays I still struggle in this area. But by the grace of God, each time I am faced with those emotions I present them to Him and I am able to put them aside.
