For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at
this time, then shall there enlargement and
deliverance arise to the Jews from another
place; but thou and thy father's house shall be
destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou
art come to the kingdom for such a time as
this? (Esther 4:14)
If you’re anything like me, I am sure that at one point in time or another, you have questioned why you have to go through the things that you have to go through and deal with some of the people and issues that you have to deal with. When faced with opposition from children who want to have their own way, parents who don’t know where to draw the line and let you handle your own affairs without intruding, and an overbearing husband who is not only controlling but unwilling to compromise in any way to make your life less stressful, you might be inclined to question God.
It may seem like things would be much better if you were in a different scenario altogether and did not have to confront the challenges that life often presents. However, have you considered even for a moment that our Heavenly Father knows best and knew that you were the ideal person to put in the position that you’re in right now? Think about it! All throughout your life, He has been equipping you with the tools you would need to get you to this place so that you can rise higher still in your faith and relationships. He has promised to give us grace for moments like these in life. So when you’re hard-pressed to turn a blind eye to some things or to not exercise the power that is within our reach, remember that He demands your unswerving allegiance to His Word and unwavering obedience to His perfect will.
Who knows how the story might end if in fact you stay the course and walk by faith, trusting Him to take care of the issues that bombard you each day? I encourage you to emulate Queen Esther, a God-fearing woman, who not only recognized that her perspective mattered, but who also knew that it would require courage on her part to stand up for what was right when it mattered the most.
