“Do not love the world or the things in the world.” If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15
The enemy of our souls truly has a plan for each and every one of us. Unfortunately, that plan sometimes involves, distorting and corrupting God’s creative works (man, families, God’s laws, and institutions like marriage, etc.) to bring utter devastation to an even wider population!
Don’t believe me? Well, just take a look around you for a moment. Although the advancement of technology has improved our way of life to some extent, I also believe it has worked to our detriment in so many other ways!
Unfortunately, as technology continues to advance, being distracted from God is becoming easier and easier. Sometimes we are so consumed with our technology all day that we only acknowledge God right before we go to sleep with a quick 30 second prayer which we sometimes do not get through. This should not be. This may not be true of everyone, but I dare you to prayerfully and sincerely examine yourself, and determine what role technology has played in your life and how it is negatively affecting or has negatively impacted your relationship with God, your husband, and children.
Peter answered him, “Lord, if it’s you, order me to come to you on the water.” Jesus said, “Come on!” So Peter got down out of the boat, started walking on the water, and came to Jesus. But when he noticed the strong wind, he was frightened. As he began to sink, he shouted, “Lord, save me!” At once Jesus reached out his hand, caught him, and asked him, “You who have so little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:28-31 Peter got distracted by the things around him, and so do we. But there is danger in taking our eyes off Christ.
Yes! The enemy may in fact have many plans up his proverbial sleeves for us, but as professed children of God, we have the assurance that our Heavenly Father has amazing plans of good and not evil for us as Jeremiah 29:11 states, and to give us an expected end.
Heavenly Father: Please give us godly discernment. Help us to be well able to recognize and know the enemy and his tactics so that we will not fall into the traps he sets for our feet! Also, give us the determination to eliminate the distractions in our lives as we purpose to live for You, and may we embrace all of your promises and plans for us, we humbly pray.
Amen!
May God Abundantly Bless You,
Shauna.
