Doing Things the Right Way

“For many are called, but few are chosen.” 
Matthew 22:14

While God is eager for us to come to him, He is not desperate. His way is Holiness and righteousness, and regardless of how few attain this ideal, He will not compromise. Jesus makes this clear in the parable of the wedding banquet in Matthew 22: 1-14. In this text, Jesus invites all and sundry to come to the wedding – – – many of whom refuse – – – but only those who took the time to study the King’s dress standards and thus dressed themselves in a wedding garment were accepted and allowed. In this age of moral relativism, we too must dress our lives like God requires lest we be disinvited like the man in the parable. Moral of story? Let’s strive to do things the right way – – That is the Jesus way.
