Faithful Still (Part 2)…

They Changed Me

It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:23

In the race of life, we are often so bombarded by challenges that we fail to recognize the power and presence of God in our lives. Perhaps you’re not even aware of the Creator’s care and compassion towards you because you have identified yourself as self-sufficient and completely capable of taking care of yourself and your family without anyone’s help. Whether we care to admit it or not, our Heavenly Father has been extremely gracious in showering down mercy upon us, even when we truly don’t deserve it at all. Even when we are guilty of going contrary to His instruction, and choose to live in open rebellion to His word and His will for our lives, it’s that same loving mercy that keeps us from being consumed and destroyed by our poor and sometimes ignorant choices.

Because He always loves us and has our best interest at heart, we experience His faithfulness each and every day. New every morning is His love! At the opening of each day, He sends to your heart and mine a brand-new invitation to experience Him in a new way. Morning by morning He blesses us beyond our wildest imagination, in hopes that we will see Him for who He really is – a God of love, and subsequently accept His invitation to walk in the love and sweet peace that only He can give.

Let not this day pass without contemplating the perfect, precious love of a God who knew you before you were conceived in your mother’s womb, and who now desires to have a personal, intimate relationship with you as you go through life. Time and time again, He has demonstrated how faithful and dependable He truly is, whether you’re aware of that fact or not. Will you reject His offer of grace and mercy today? I pray not!

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your amazing grace and for the tender compassion You show us without measure each day. Today, may we willingly accept Your gift of love with open and grateful hearts. Please pardon our ingratitude, and help us to live our lives ever acknowledging Your presence and commitment to aiding us on our journey through this life here on Earth. Teach us how to be merciful, compassionate, and faithful to others as you have been to us, we humbly pray.

Amen!
